Sara Hyde, ND - Naturopathic Doctor

Sara Hyde, ND
Cofounder, Naturopathic Doctor

Naturopathic Doctor Sara Hyde, a co-founder of Kava Collaborative Health, began her journey in private practice with Stellaria Natural Medicine after graduating from Bastyr University. There, she focused on primary care and preventative medicine. Over time, her expertise expanded to include complex chronic diseases, mental health, and metabolic disorders. She has a passion for addressing environmentally acquired illness. She recognizes the underestimated, and too frequently overlooked, impact of daily toxin exposure on chronic health problems today.

Dr. Hyde integrates a blend of conventional medicine and evidence-based natural therapies, such as botanical medicine, nutrition, counseling, hydrotherapy and homeopathy. This comprehensive approach allows her to design personalized plans not only to nurture your physical well-being but also your mental and emotional health.

Outside of patient care, Dr. Hyde enjoys spending time with her children, practicing yoga, solving puzzles, going on hikes, cooking, and attending live music events. She is currently accepting new patients over the age of 13.

Tara O’Brien, ND
Cofounder, Naturopathic Doctor

Naturopathic Doctor Tara O'Brien, a 2020 graduate of Bastyr University, has a strong dedication to patient-centered care, deeply rooted in a trauma-informed and weight-inclusive paradigm, which has ultimately inspired her to cofound Kava Collaborative Health (KCH).

With a belief that the clinical experience itself can be a form of medicine, Dr. O'Brien takes a unique approach to patient care. Her mission is not only to address immediate health concerns but to guide her patients in redefining their personal concept of health. By encouraging individuals to explore their own definition of well-being and its origin, she empowers them to reclaim their bodily autonomy.

At KCH, Dr. Tara O'Brien welcomes new patients seeking yearly wellness visits, acute care, and problem-focused exams. Her practice encompasses a diverse range of modalities, including physical medicine, counseling, and botanical remedies. While her primary focus is on pediatric and family medicine, Dr. O'Brien's expertise extends to numerous facets of healthcare, offering a holistic and inclusive approach to healing.

Lea Pelletier
Virtual Assistant

Lea has always had a passion of caring for people and animals.  She moved to Maine when she was eleven.  In middle school she job shadowed a veterinarian but a career in animal care was not to be.  Her father joined the local rescue unit.  Lea couldn’t wait to be by her dad’s side so at age 15 she too joined the ambulance team.  She graduated high school as a certified nurse’s assistant.  Her emergency medical training landed her a job at Maine Medical Center’s Emergency Department at 19 years old.  She attended Westbrook College majoring in the medical assistant program.  As her 2 boys grew up she worked as a phlebotomist.  Between a latex allergy and a hereditary tremor, she no longer does clinical patient care but still loves to care for people’s needs as a medical secretary.

In Lea’s free time she enjoys scroll saw woodworking, nature photography, hiking, biking, kayaking, crocheting, watching hockey games and most of all time with her husband, dog, two boys and two stepdaughters, their spouses and four beautiful and fun grandchildren.
